Before becoming a CEO, I began a simple practice of engaging with co-workers. “What would you do in my position?” I asked team members, managers and leaders to make introductions and start conversations. These interactions sparked opportunities for continuing education, coaching and sharing of that vital workplace asset: ideas. They represented engagement in an active, direct and uncluttered form. We could use more of that today.
